Term 3 Webinar - App Design with SwiftUI

  • 13 Sep 2021
  • 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Online

You’re invited.

Helping students make great looking software apps can be challenging. With SwiftUI, Swift and Xcode on a Mac you can teach students the principles of good user interface design and software engineering using the same tools used by real app developers. The goal is to introduce secondary teachers to Xcode on a Mac and provide hands-on examples, showing possible approaches to teach app user interface design to high school students. We will start with a 1 hour overview on Monday, September 13, followed by 3 follow up hands-on sessions during the school holidays covering specific themes. These themes can be tailored to the needs of the attendees and will involve a deep dive into app design. The sessions will be presented by Apple Professional Learning Specialist, Dr. Daniel Woo. He has extensive commercial, education and R&D experience in user interface design and engineering. He has worked across the arts, education, science and engineering. There will be an introductory webinar on Monday, September 13 at 8pm and this will be followed up with 3 workshops during the second week of the school holidays - September 28, 29 and 30 at 10am.
