Dr Beekhuyzen (aka Jewella)is an entrepreneur, university teacher, founder of Androit Research and creator of Tech Girls are Superheroes and the Tech Girls Movement. Tech Girls are Superheroes showcases real world female role models through their superhero personas who change the world every day by working in technology. Dr. Beekhuyzen appears as Jewella alongside a powerful contingent of women and girls who serve as role models to young students.
Tech Girls Movement encourage young girls to enter the tech world, not only educating them but also their parents and teachers about tech careers and their potential. “In the past four years at the helm of the Tech Girls Movement, she has engaged 1650 school girls in STEM entrepreneurship, matched with 400+ mentors who have volunteered 5000+ hours of their time.”

He has also been awarded the Australian Office for Learning and Teaching Citation Award for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning and Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence among others.
